And now we're being nickel and dimed for Rayman costumes?

We've paid our money, it's not like this is a free-2-play game - in fact, it's a really rather expensive game when you add it all up inclusive of DLC. That's not very respectful to all those people who have paid triple A prices to buy the game and 7 DLC packs. And now, less than 18 months after release (which is hardly old but it probably means that sales are flagginf) we suddenly get microtransactions shoehorned it from nowhere. The base game + 7 paid-for DLCs is not cheap - people have spent a lot of money on this title. We'll have to wait and see, maybe acorns can be earnt in other ways, but it does come across as flogging loyal customers for every last penny they've got. It's not virtual when it costs actual money - that's real currency, nothing "virtual" about it.Īnyway, it looks like they're just for cosmetics, but equally it looks like all cosmetics for both rider and bike will now be charged in "acorns", which renders the standard in-game cash rewards obsolete.

And this may just be me, but it really bothers me that they refer to this in the patch notes as a "virtual currency". I must admit, I got very nervous when I saw those "acorns" - and the amount of real-world money they cost.
